In today’s trading, Energy was the only sector in the red, weighed by a 4.14 per cent decline in Whitehaven Coal (ASX:WHC) shares to $9.03, a 3.19 per cent decline by Yancoal (ASX:YAL) and a 8.81 per cent fall by TerraCom (ASX:TER). To finish the day the S&P/ASX 200 was 1.15 per cent or 77.80 points higher at 6863.50. All eyes are on tomorrow’s expected interest rate hike, with many predicting a 50 basis point rise. ![]()
